Shinshoji to Publish Catalog on KOHTEI Art Pavilion


We are pleased to announce the June 17, 2017 publication of a comprehensive catalog introducing the new KOHTEI art pavilion, designed by sculptor Kohei Nawa with SANDWICH, and located in the Shinshoji Zen Museum and Gardens in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture. The catalog, entitled KOHTEI KOHEI NAWASANDWICH, presents all aspects of the work, including the architecture, the installation in the interior and the landscape, from a variety of viewpoints.

The catalog includes an essay by architecture historian and critic Taro Igarashi, photographs by photographer Nobutada Omote, enabling readers to feel the aura of KOHTEI, images by Gottingham that highlight features of the materials, concept text by Kohei Nawa, images of the building process by the artisans and creators, and architectural drawings by SANDWICH.

We hope that through this beautiful catalog, which introduces the rich experiences offered by the art pavilion, readers can explore and discover the exquisite world of KOHTEI.
